3rd EUROPEAN PRACTICAL HUNTING CHAMPIONSHIP 2018 - PIEDMONT - ITALY
On 15 and 16 September 2018 took place in Italy at Ceresole Alba, in the Piedmont region, the third edition of the European Irish Setters Championship, event sponsored by the International Irish Red Setter Club and organized by the Irish Club S.I.S. - Societa Italian Setters.
The winners
Good participation of competitors who came from the Netherlands (Hensk KLOOSTER TEN), Ukraine (Anatoly GOLUBCENKO and Alex TARANENKO) and various regions of Italy.
In total, 26 Irish Setter were presented, divided into two batteries judged respectively by Giorgio Gaggero and Roberto Collodoro and Francesco Balducci and Mario Testa. My thanks to the jury for their great availability for our breed.
Nice land made available by the CN3 Territorial Hunting Zone, sufficiently open, which facilitated the evaluation of the participants. The optimal density of the game, pheasants and partridges in the groups, allowed opportunities for the presence in all the couple. The high temperature for the season and the quality of the game certainly made it difficult for the dogs.
Certainly, we would have liked a greater participation of the competitors of other nations adhering to the International Irish Red Setter Club for a better comparison and evaluation of the subjects compared in the field, and really valid for the practical hunting note. Note that I consider it the closest to the current level of most Irish Setters who have been presented and participated in field events.
